Diamond Johnson recently stopped by The Loop Loft for lunch and after discussing drums over sandwiches we decided to throw up a couple of tabla and frame loops from Satnam Ramgotra in 7/4 in Logic to give Diamond something to play along with.
I grabbed my iPhone and attached it to a gimbal that I still haven't figured out how to use (my apologies for the shakiness), placed my Canon camera on the coffee table and captured the following 3+ minutes of Diamond reacting and improvising to the tabla and frame drum grooves.
To take it a step further, I later added some Brazilian percussion loops from Celso Alberti and programmed a 4 bar loop using REAKTOR Blocks.
