by The Loop Loft

$ 49.00
The Brazilian Drums and Percussion Ableton Live Pack brings the infectious grooves and sounds of world-renowned drummer, Celso Alberti (Steve Winwood, Airto, Flora Purim, Herbie Mann), directly into your own sessions.  Volume 1 of this series explores a vast range of Brazilian rhythms including samba, bossa nova, partido alto, baião, afoxê and xote.  This Live Pack includes a series of sets arranged by Celso that provide an excellent starting point for each of the different rhythms, with the percussion instruments and drum kit loops presented on separate tracks.

We also meticulously sampled a wide range of authentic Brazilian percussion instruments (including shakers, surdos, pandeiros, reco recos, & tamborims... just to name a few!) and designed custom drum racks, each with advanced macros, giving you complete control over the sonic characteristics.  This allows you to program your own grooves and fills utilizing the exact same sounds that were captured in the "live" drum loop recording sessions, along with the ability to tweak them even further.

About Celso Alberti

Celso Alberti was born in Curitiba, Southern Brazil. The driving rhythms of his country's music led him to develop an early interest in the drums and by the age of 17, he was performing regularly as a professional. In 1982 he decided to expand his musical horizons and move to New York City.

Celso's dynamic style combining elements of samba, jazz, funk and rock quickly caught on and he played with numerous artists in the Big Apple.

By 1986, he started his first major tour as a drummer with world-renowned percussionist Airto Moreira along with singer Flora Purim and recorded on their album The Magicians for Concord Crossover Records and The Flight for B&W Records.

From 1989 to 2005 he toured and recorded with many artists, including jazz flautist Herbie Mann, guitarists Joyce Cooling, Danny Heines, singer John Lucien, bassist Michael Manring, keyboardist Kit Walker (Kitaro), Frank Martin (Narada Michael Walden), Starship guitarist Craig Chaquico and seminal English rocker Steve Winwood.

The years 2006 to the present brought him to Russia and Ukraine, performing with ace Russian keyboardist Andrei Kondakov and also performances with guitarist Stef Burns (Alice Cooper, Huey Lewis and the News), Emilio Santiago, Dori Caymmi and Chico Pinheiro (Best Latin Jazz Guitarist 2011),

Throughout the years, Celso also honed his recording skills and has become a respected audio engineer. His credits behind the board include albums by Airto Moreira, Mary Fettig, Steve Winwood, and numerous others.
